It seems L.A. Kings defenseman Drew Doughty’s mind is on something other than hockey these days.

In a matchup with the woeful Arizona Coyotes on Thursday night, Doughty reached out to Coyotes winger Clayton Keller during a faceoff not to trash talk, but drum up a golf game.

Doughty starts the conversation with Keller with a simple question: “What’s your handicap?” and seems surprised when Keller’s response is simply, “Scratch.”

Doughty fires back a priceless, “SCRATCH?! Let’s Play…I’m a seven.” Always good to get the other guy to offer up his handicap first. I have a feeling Drew’s trying to squeeze a few extra shots out of this one…

Fun to hear golf getting thrown around on the ice, especially in the heat of the battle.

Patrick learned the game of golf on the plains of western Nebraska, where Saturday sunrise meant getting to the course to spend 9 holes with Dad. He's currently on a mission to play the best courses southwestern CT has to offer, find a consistent putting stroke, and secure hole-in-one #2.
