Cleveland Golf Announces CBX Full-Face 2 Wedges
After announcing the new RTX ZipCore Wedges last week, Cleveland Golf is at it again with another product launch. This time, the OEM is hyping its CBX Full-Face 2 wedges, which pack similar technology as the RTX ZipCore but with a full-face design for ultimate forgiveness and creativity.
The Full-Face 2 wedges from Cleveland have a much larger club face than the RTZ ZipCore, giving players of all skill levels more confidence and forgiveness in even the most challenging greenside and around-the-green shots.
However, the Full-Face 2 wedges pack the same tech as the ZipCore, as Cleveland added the HydraZip, ZipCore, and UtiliZip features, which all work to increase spin and control in any lie.
- HydraZip: A dynamic blast and laser-milled line system creating roughness to
enhance friction—maximizing spin in any conditions from anywhere around the
green. - ZipCore: The proprietary, low-density core technology offering players increased
spin, distance, consistency, feel, and control. - UltiZip: Features grooves that are sharper, deeper, and tightly spaced, allowing
the club to slice through debris and bite harder for enhanced spin and control
The combination of the larger face and the new technologies helps in a variety of ways, Director of Engineering Dustin Brekke said:
“Our new CBX Full-Face 2 Wedge allows golfers the freedom to get creative around the greens and in tight yardages, with the perfect amount of spin control. With the biggest face ever on a CBX wedge, you’ll be able to strike the ball anywhere on the face with more forgiveness, while enjoying controlled stopping power in any conditions.”
Cleveland also included a high-toe profile on the club face, increasing contact area by 13 percent than the previous Full Face model. One of the most notable advantages of this is forgiveness with open-face shots when players are attempting to get the ball up in the air, either over a hazard, tree, or a heightened bunker lip.
Engineering the Full Face 2 wedges also included several improvements that featured a hollow-cavity design that improves the sweet spot and pushes the Center of Gravity directly behind the impact zone.
Cleveland said the Full Face 2 wedges would also come standard with high-spin shaft options, like the True Temper Dynamic Gold 115 Spinner Tour Issue and the Project X Catalyst 80 Spinner. Customization in terms of aesthetics will also be available to players, as Cleveland is offering 20 paint fill pigment options across three color groups.
Starting at $169.99, Cleveland’s new Full Face 2 wedges will be available February 3.
