Costco is Refunding All Customers Who Bought Kirkland Golf Balls

If you play golf regularly or even casually, you know that it can be a pretty expensive hobby. One of the companies trying to make it more affordable, however, just hit a huge snag with their product.

If you can remember back to 2016, Costco released their first golf ball with Kirkland to be sold in their stores and online. The balls were a huge hit with customers who could get the signature four-piece balls for $30 per 24 pack. The balls sold out multiple times that year and Costco has brought them back now and again every few years.

The Kirkland balls were a big hit again in 2018 and the company decided to launch them again a few weeks ago. As predicted, the stock quickly sold out again because of past popularity but players were not happy with what they have received. Unlike the balls that were produced in the past, these ones have exhibited a wide variety of problems already.

Much of the problems that are leading to the balls’ terrible 2.1-star product rating on the Costco website has to deal with the covers that are placed on them. According to several customers and many pictures provided, the balls are getting cracks in their cover only after being hit for a few shots. That obviously makes the balls unplayable and a huge waste of money.

Costco heard all of the complaints, however, and promptly responded. Thanks to all of the feedback, Costco emailed all customers to assure them that all of their purchases would be refunded and they would not have to return any of the balls they purchased. So if you were affected, this may be something you want to jump on as soon as possible to get your money back.

It’s unknown right now why these Kirkland balls are so flawed compared to previous batches but many suspect that they do not have the licensing to produce the same ones for more than a short period of time. So if Costco wants to release their own balls again, they’ll surely have to step up the performance to gain their customers back.
