CRAZY: Florida Man Grabs Ball Off Alligator’s Tail

If you’ve been golfing for a long time, there’s no doubt that you or one of your friends has done something rather stupid on the golf course. But this Florida man may take the cake for what he did this week.

Florida is known as a golfing mecca of sorts because of the sheer number of courses, all the professionals that live in the state, and the perfect climate for year-round play. But with that paradise comes some obvious complications, including nature. And nature’s biggest complication to golfing in Florida is the wildlife, specifically alligators. And an alligator is exactly what got in the way of this golfer.

Florida natives are certainly used to seeing alligators on a normal basis but they aren’t used to hitting them with golf balls. Somehow, a golfer playing at Coral Oaks Golf Course in Cape Coral managed to hit one of his shots to where the ball checked up right on the tail of a gator. And in typical, “Florida Man” fashion, the golfer decided to just go up and get his ball from the gator’s tail.

And while the decision to take the ball may not have been smart, the man’s friend made the great decision to pull out his phone so he could record the whole thing. You can hear another friend in the background say “He’s gonna whip you with that tail, dude” as the man walks up and calmly moves his ball. And with that, the golfer went back to his round while the gator went back to his routine day.

It’s the second time in the last two months that a gator has caught the attention of golf fans after a monster-sized reptile was seen on a course in Naples, during a hurricane. While no one wanted to touch that giant, this isn’t even the first time we’ve seen a golfer go up and just touch one. A few year’s ago, you may remember Cody Gribble grabbed a gator’s tail during the Arnold Palmer Invitational, which maybe was this guy’s inspiration to go get his ball.

While natives of the South East U.S. may be used to dealing with gators on a regular basis, it’s always unsettling to see someone get so close to a dangerous animal. Thankfully everyone was safe and we do not recommend following in this guy’s footsteps if your ball ever ends up that close to an alligator.
