TaylorMade have released their own retro mini driver with the all-new BRNR Mini Driver Copper model announced this week.

TaylorMade Golf announced yesterday that the club “draws inspiration from its late-90s roots, blending retro logos and styling with modern technologies to perform off the tee or off the deck.

The crown provides a classic look of previous TaylorMade models, adding the twist face technology with a sleek finish. The base of the head looks almost identical to the Burner Plus club from previous decades, due to the shape of the finish and the accompanying text that is akin to the Burner Plus driver from the late eighties and mid-nineties, hence the modern twist on the ‘Burner’ range with the BRNR Mini Driver.

Unlike the Burner Plus model of the 1990s that can be purchased on eBay for $21, the BRNR mini driver is retailing for close to $500. Blending heritage and modern innovation shows TaylorMade taking a step forward by taking a look back – after the successful launch of their Qi10 model earlier this year. TaylorMade have also offered a retro looking head cover and shaft option with the mini driver, that comes in 11.5 degrees of 13.5 degree options.

Twist Face®, Thru-Slot Speed Pocket™ and the four-degree Loft Sleeve provide the ultimate suite of technologies. The Speed Pocket is engineered to maximize ball speeds and add forgiveness on low-face strikes. The four-degree Loft Sleeve is pleasing for users in that it allows golfers to fine tune loft and face angle.

The K-SOLE design helps the club glide smoothly through the turf while reducing resistance and promoting a consistent strike. Split 13g weights allow golfers to switch between the standard setting for easy launch, and the low spin setting by putting the weights in the front for a piercing trajectory.
