Devereux Golf Shirts Review

The folks at Devereux clothing company pride themselves on offering men the “proper threads” to not only look good on the course, but to also feel great while playing.  Brothers Robert and Will Brunner took their passion of golf and fashion and brought to life their vision of quality modern menswear with a unique and stylish flair.

Their clean modern styles are designed to inspire performance both in life and on the course, and boy do these dapper threads deliver.  Put one on and you’ll be feeling comfortable and confident, and even if you don’t score well, at least you’ll know you look good.

The Devereux Golf Shirt

I received two different shirts from the Christina O Collection and was immediately drawn in to the amazing fabric that these shirts were designed with.

The Aristotle

This unique 3-button shirt was inspired by the waves of the sea and the design presents a waved cut-and-sew piece across the chest.  The look is fashionable and it would tie in well with a nice pair of white or gray golf slacks to round out the outfit.

The Aristotle polo is a luxurious lightweight jersey made up of 65% PIMA cotton and 35% Polyester.  We found the shirt to be quite durable and it should last you for many seasons.  The Aristotle currently sells for $95.00 USD and comes in sizes S –XXL.

The Delphine

We really love the unique style of the 4-button display paired with a small, understated collar.  The Delphine has a modern look and comes with a bold print across the chest.

Like the Aristotle, the Delphine is also a lightweight jersey made up of 65% PIMA Cotton and 35% Polyester.  This super comfortable shirt looks deadly with nice pair of golf slacks and bold white belt.  The Delphine currently sells for $90.00 USD and comes in sizes S –XXL.

The Fit

We all know how important comfort is during a five hour round of golf.  That said, the shirts we tried felt great and fit perfectly.  Generally speaking, we found that the slimmer, more modern cut of the shirts were well suited to thinner, and more athletic body types.

What we liked most was that the look and feel of the shirt made for an easy transition from the course to the clubhouse, and beyond.  The cooling 65% cotton material helped to keep us sweat-free so the shirt was able to hold up to a long day of golf and a few drinks afterward.

The Feel

PIMA cotton is a type of cotton grown in Peru, Australia, and the Southwestern part of the United States.  It’s widely considered to be a luxurious material since the blends of cotton offer durability that also absorbs sweat and water easily.  The biggest advantage to having both cotton and polyester woven into these amazing golf shirts is the enhanced durability of the garment.

Marketers of PIMA type of cotton claim that is could last as much as 50% longer than fabrics made from other strains of cotton—we’ll get back to you on that one after we’ve had these Devereux shirts on our backs for a few seasons.

The Cost

Like most quality golf polo’s, the Devereux brand is right up there in price with the Cobra Puma and Nike’s of the world.  The new line averages just under $100 per shirt, but we feel that’s a great price for a piece of golf gear that will last you for many seasons.

It’s also worth noting that Devereux offers clearance items for about 40% off the original sale price, and we have no complaints about some of their older season swag, which is often just as fresh as their new lines!

The Verdict

We’re big believers in quality over quantity when it comes to golf gear and apparel.  Golf is an outdoor sport played in all types of weather and terrain, so a durable shirt that stays comfortable in different conditions is always going to score high marks with us.  You also never know who you’ll end up playing a round with which is why we never skimp on style.  Long story short, we highly recommend you check out some gear from Devereux to give your golf style a bit of a boost this season.
